Predominant Th2/Tc2 polarity of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes in human cervical cancer.
Cytotoxic T lymphocytes (Tc) play a central role in cellular immunity against cancers. The cytotoxic potential of freshly isolated tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) is usually not expressed. This suggests the possible existence of as yet unspecified and perhaps complex immunosuppressive factors or cytokines that affect the anti-tumor capacity of these TILs in the tumor milieu. In the presen...
متن کاملAdoptive transfer of tumor infiltrating lymphocytes for metastatic cervical cancer
Adoptive T-cell therapies for cancer can induce tumor responses in patients with metastatic melanoma, synovial sarcoma, and B-cell malignancies. However, no cellular therapy has demonstrated activity in a common epithelial tumor. Adoptive transfer of tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL) has high response rates and can induce complete and durable tumor regression in metastatic melanoma. We sough...
متن کاملTumor-infiltrating lymphocytes in breast cancer
We have prospectively validated in an independent clinical cohort the finding that elevated amounts of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes in breast carcinoma tissues predict the response of patients to neoadjuvant chemotherapy. These results suggest that a robust tumor infiltration by T and B cells is a promising biomarker to define patients who might benefit from neoadjuvant chemotherapy.

9 Abstract 10 11 Tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) have been recognized in various 12 cancers and may reflect a host immune response to malignant cells. TILs 13 are a heterogeneous population of various types of mononuclear cells, 14 including CD8 or CD4 + T cells and their subsets, B cells, myeloid 15 derived suppressor cells (MDSC), macrophages, and other cells. Immuno16 suppressive facto...
